In what many are calling an upset to be talked about for years to come, Adele won all in the major categories at the 59th Grammy Awards that held at the Staples Centre, Los Angeles.
Not only did she win Record of the Year, Song of the Year and the coveted Album of the Year, she actually won in every category she was nominated in, beating off her main rival Beyonce for all the major awards.
Her 25 album beat off Beyonce’s Lemonade for Album of the Year gong and the lead single off the album, ‘Hello’ carted the Song of the Year and Record of the Year awards.

This would be the second time the British born singer would be winning all the major awards at the Grammys. With her second album, 21, Adele also won the Album of the Year award, with ‘Rolling In The Deep’ winning Record of the Year and Song of the Year in 2012.
But Adele did not have it all her way during the Grammys ceremony. She ran into trouble while performing a tribute for late George Michael.
While performing his hit song, ‘Fast Love’, Adele ran into technical difficulties and had to start performing the song from the beginning again.

That aside, this caps a remarkable year for Adele; releasing a critically and commercially successful album and selling out concerts all over the world
While it may be too hasty to say Adele has dethroned Beyonce from the top of the totem pole, Adele cannot be far off.
Beyonce may still be the queen of the universe, but Adele is coming for the throne.
