United States President-elect Donald Trump denied journalists access to follow him on his trip to the White House where he and his wife, Melania met with outgoing President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.

He did not allow journalists to follow him on meetings he would be having with other government officials on his trip to the nation’s capital.

According to Associated Press reports, Donald Trump bucked the trend of having press corps gain access to the president’s itinerary as he has not released a daily schedule of his movements. Also, he has not made public any of the phone calls he has received from world leaders congratulating him on his success at the polls.

Trump’s relationship with his country’s media has been complicated since he announced his candidacy and it does not look like it has improved.

He has referred to it as corrupt and rigged in the past, and members of the press had stated their fears of him proscribing the media in the United States.
