Diddy described the Queensbridge legend as 'an example of black excellence.'
Over the weekend, Diddy‘s television network, Revolt held its second annual Revolt Music Conference, a two-day event that saw the American hip-hop industry get together for seminars, panels and musical performances.
The Revolt Music Conference hosted the ultimate networking session for all music business enthusiasts, from aspiring artistes, managers and publicists, to entrepreneurs and music executives, allowing a platform for knowledge sharing and industry stories.
The weekend culminated in the gala night on Saturday night where Diddy awarded rap icon, Nas with the Jimmy Iovine Icon Award, describing the Queensbridge legend as ‘an example of black excellence’.
DMX also spoke on his friendship with Nas, with whom he co-starred in the 1998 movie Belly. ‘It’s an honour to call you a friend and a true, true artist. Not many artists have inspired me,’ he said.
