In 2010, South African film-maker and photographer John Thackwray, started ‘My Room Project’, a book documenting the different places where people from different parts of the world lay their heads and spend most of their days in.

The project, which he started in Paris six years ago along with a few friends, reveals the incredible contrast in lifestyle of people around the globe.

These photographs open our eyes to the diversity of lifestyles, destruction of our traditions and the rise of inequalities all around the world.

The book will be published later this year.
