An amazing photographer took pictures of people from around the world in their bedrooms and the result is beautifully eye-opening.
In 2010, South African film-maker and photographer John Thackwray, started ‘My Room Project’, a book documenting the different places where people from different parts of the world lay their heads and spend most of their days in.
The project, which he started in Paris six years ago along with a few friends, reveals the incredible contrast in lifestyle of people around the globe.
Find some of the pictures below.
Since the beginning of the project, Thackwray has photographed 1,200 people from 55 countries.
Speaking to MailOnline, he said that some of the experiences were particularly strong because of the life stories of the subjects.
The concept of the project is photographing and interviewing young people all around the world, who were born in the ’80s and ’90s, in the places they sleep.
These photographs open our eyes to the diversity of lifestyles, destruction of our traditions and the rise of inequalities all around the world.
The book will be published later this year.
